At its public meeting on July 23, 2014, the Board announced its current short-term agenda. The issues announced are those that the Board has already determined it will address. On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board will meet in order to (1) consider and vote on the release of its third semi-annual report, (2) announce the Board’s short-term agenda, and (3) receive the views of non-governmental organizations, the business community, and the general public on its mid-term and long-term agenda. Tomorrow, on July 2, 2014, the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board will be voting upon and releasing its independent bipartisan report and related findings regarding the collection of electronic communications conducted under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Chairman David Medine's February 4, 2014 Testimony before the House Judiciary Committee (Download​)
Testimony delivered by Chairman Medine before the House Judiciary Committee regarding the Board's recent report on the NSA's bulk telephone records program conducted under Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act and on the operations of the FISA court. Chairman Medine described the Board's process for reviewing the telephone records program's operation, legal basis, and policy implications, and provided an overview of the Board's recommendations.​


Statement on Meeting with the President, January 8, 2014.
Announcement that the Board met with the President, Vice President, and their staffs to discuss the Board's findings and conclusions regarding the Section 215 bulk telephone records program and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. The Board also announced the schedule for release of the Board's Section 215 report as well as for a separate report on Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance  Act. (Read More)
